RCMP said a suspect faces 98 fraud-related charges after funds were stolen from the Home Hardware Building Centre in Thompson over a five-year period.

In June 2009, police received a report that staff suspected an employee had been stealing from the company.

A forensic audit was carried out.

It was determined that between 2004 and 2009, a total of $1.5 million went missing through fraudulent means, said RCMP.

A former office manager, who had relocated to St. John's, N.L., was arrested on a Canada-wide warrant on March 21 and has been returned to Manitoba.

Theresa Foley, 43, faces 98 fraud-related charges, including fraud over $5,000, theft over $5,000 and multiple counts of uttering forged documents and falsifying documents, said RCMP.
