Fire crews were busy battling blazes across the province Thursday night. At least two fires were burning for most of the evening April 12 just north of Winnipeg.

Three different fire crews were called to battle a wildfire on pasture land west of Balmoral around 3 p.m. Thursday. No homes were destroyed by the fire, and there were no reported injuries. But the fire did damage acres of farm land.

Bruce Buchanan estimated about 60 acres of his pasture land was damaged by the fire. "At this time of year you shouldn't be able to walk out there – the sloughs should be full – but they're dry right now," said Buchanan.

Warm weather and dry conditions are fueling the fires, which have broke out across the province for the last few weeks.

Fire bans are now in place in numerous locations throughout Manitoba.

The province is advising people to check with their local RMs to check if fire bans are in place in their area.
