The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are revamping their cheerleading team with the addition of some testosterone.

The team held cheerleading tryouts and for the first time allowed men to try out for the cheerleading squad.

The cheerleading squad is going to become a co-ed dance and stunt team for the upcoming season, Bomber officials said.

The team has also hired coaches to work with the team who have previously worked with the University of Manitoba Bison cheer team.

Officials said they wanted to bring a different level of athleticism and entertainment to game days.

The public tryouts took place at the sports bar in McPhillips Station Casino at noon Sunday.
