Winnipeg police are investigating the city's latest homicide after a man stabbed earlier in the week died in hospital Friday night.

The 26-year-old was found stabbed in the stomach around 2:30 a.m. on April 24 and was rushed to hospital. Police said a passerby had found the man lying in the street near Notre Dame Avenue and Balmoral Street.

He died in hospital on April 27 from injuries, said police. 

Officers identified the victim on April 30 as Daniel William Hall.

Police closed off the area to pedestrians and cars to investigate and re-opened the area around 6 a.m. Tuesday.

No arrests have been made in the case.
