A 19-year-old man was sent to hospital Sunday night after being stabbed downtown.

Police said the man was on a city bus near Portage Avenue and Garry Street just after 9 p.m. when he got in a verbal confrontation with three other men. All of the men got off the bus on Portage Avenue and Garry Street when a fight broke out, police said. The 19-year-old was then stabbed in the ribs.

He was taken to hospital in stable condition.

Police are now looking for three young men. The first is white, about five-foot-eight, 150 lbs, clean shaven and was armed with a knife. The second is aboriginal in appearance, about five-foot-eight, 140 lbs and clean shaven with short black hair. There is no description for the third man. The suspects involved ranged in age from 17 years old to 19 years old and were strangers to the victim.
